Nov 20: Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR) 🏳️‍⚧️

Nov. 20 annually is our Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) - which memorializes those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia. The day was founded to draw attention to the continued violence directed toward transgender people.

This TDoR please join us at two back-to-back Nov 20 events in Vancouver, plus a Nov 23 vigil.

Trans Day of Remembrance [all ages] Gathering

Join us for an all ages gathering and drop-in for 2SLGBTQIA+ community members to hold space and be together away from the public eye.

Live music, letter writing, drag performances, and healing as we mark this year’s Trans Day of Remembrance

  • Date: November 20, 2025

  • Time: 5 - 7 pm

  • Location: The Birdhouse, 44 west 4th [ map ]

  • RSVP: This event is drop-in - we only ask for RSVP here to see how many folks to expect, but anyone can come by at anytime

Nov 20: Vancouver Trans March and sagah are hosting a Vigil at MacLean Park at 7 pm [ map ]. We will be shortening our program to end around 6:45 to give folks time to head to the park or the vigil. We encourage our community to attend both events if possible to recognize Trans Day of Remembrance.

Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil

November 20th is Trans Day of Remembrance, a time for honoring our Trans siblings taken too soon and holding grief in community. Each year we (St. Andrews-Wesley United Church) host a vigil to provide a safe space for our 2SLGBTQIA+ community to gather together and through ritual and ceremony honour their loved ones.

We would like to invite you to join us for this contemplative service for Trans Day of Remembrance. This evening will feature music from the Quayside Voices and a reflection from Rev. Lauren Kirkey, co- founder of the Saige Foodbank for the Two-Spirit, Trans and Gender diverse community. The vigil commemorates all transgender people lost to violence and lifts up those who are continuing to work for trans rights.

  • What: Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil
